After seeing La Cabra pop up on many a “best of” list, I decided to check it out. I heard they take they’re coffee seriously and that’s definitely the sense I got the minute I walked in the door. The long peninsula counter to the left looks like a coffee laboratory. They looked intense as they made the various pour overs and it worked – I would consider mine a great cup of coffee.

It’s all minimalist, giving of Scandi vibes but a little moodier than the bright Ikea-ified landscape we’ve grown accustomed to. Perhaps that’s because it hails from Denmark rather than Sweden and leave it to the Danish know dark. That is the site of Hamlet, after all. It felt like a meadow at the edge of a rainstorm.

And look at the bread and pastries. Yum. They’ve become sorta famous for their cardamom bun, which looks like a sweet, lighter garlic knot. I didn’t get one because I was heading next door for lunch. Do I regret it? Yea, yea I do.
